4th of July in Riverside

Debi and Julia enjoying pre-fireworks music at Fairmont Park. We decided to check out the local action after visiting Dad and going to lunch in Orange County.

Family's get ready for the big event- lakeside -in beautiful 80 degree weather with an incredibl sunset followed immediately by a "fingernail" moonset.

Over 25 minutes of fireworks... incredible show over the lake. We left with the masses after an amazing grand finale... all so close we lay on our backs to watch them explode overhead. Fireworks were still going off well after we left.

Kudos to city officials, volunteers, sponsors, community leaders... a great event- good fun. Hope your 4th was fantastic!

acquainting myself with your blogsite after seeing my name referenced by you on Ken DeMaere's site. I heard you preach in anderson back ??? You ran a marathon and I was impressed then but unacquainted, other than knowing the Denton brothers--which one was your dad? Some of you guys are doing things right and have much to share with us that are older. We're hanging on to keep up (at 81), but you can tell from my blogsite I'm still not up to speed yet...if ever. I am truly interested in how some of you would get us off deadcenter and move the chog back into movement. Wayne

hey brother,

Don't know who Ken DeMaere is... referenced you on Lloyd's Chog Blog- that's where I discovered your blog and have enjoyed following it and hearing your perspective.

What a memory you've got... heard me preach at campmeeting... that was a long time ago.

My dad's Wilford Denton- he and his brothers John, Glenn and Mark pretty well covered the church of God preaching. Mark's retired in Washington. Dad's 93 and living here in southern California- mom died last month. Uncle Glenn died last July, Uncle John and Aunt Lura Ann (who if you remember hearing me preach at campmeeting you must really remember them) have both been Home with The Lord quite a while.

Thanks for your voice for peace and your reflections on the church. I share them with dad- who's sure he remembers you -a few spots on the net have become touchstones for what we once enjoyed in the church.

Hang in there brother. Your voice is both necessary and important.

blessings,

Eric
